Beatrice

Beatrice is a serif typeface designed for the bold and modern. It is a typeface that fuses smooth curves and geometric serifs together, with high contrast. Through this project I created a book that displayed Beatrice in a moody setting with exerts from the book Little Bee written by Chris Cleave. Beatrice was created for body copy which is why it is only shown in its lowercase form.
This project uses exerts from the story Little Bee as a vehicle to showcase all that Beatrice has to offer. Here the typeface is broken down and analyzed through scale and color. The imagery shown is used to illustrate the scene and story that Little Bee is set in. The Book also utilizes smaller spreads that flip for visual interests and for bite size pieces of information to live on.
